How to Use Component/Composite Analysis to Increase Skills
Presenter(s): Marlene J Cohen, Derek Oliver, and Natasha Luchies (Cayman ABA)
Abstract: Often we are faced with the challenge of addressing skill acquisition challenges with our students or clients. Many of us focus energy on addressing the skill at the point of difficulty. Assessing the fluency of component skills that comprise the larger composite skill can provide good information about what components are dysfluent. Building fluency in component skills can naturally lead to composite skill success. This symposium will review the component/composite skill analysis for three children and the results of component skill fluency on composite skill performance.
