
We have two very special invited addresses for IPTC 2009; Dr. Todd Sowers and Dr. Owen White.
On Friday, 30-Oct-2009 at 9:00 a.m., Dr. Todd Sowers will be giving a keynote presentaiton, "How Do We Know Greenhouse Gas Fluctuations are Tied to Climate? Global Climate Records on 10-10^6 Timescales." This is a special science presentation that will have some measurement commonalities between the science of behavior as envisioned by our pioneers and more Earth and environmental sciences. Dr. Sowers is an invited speaker from the Penn State Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI), one of the nation’s leading institutes in earth and environmental sciences research. Its diverse and world-renowned faculty members are engaged in interdisciplinary, innovative and collaborative research on some of the most compelling problems and issues of our time.
On 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, 31-Oct-2009, Dr. Owen White will be giving a keynote presentation, "Precision Teaching - A Practical Science of Education."

PT Roots – This keynote address will discuss the evolution of scientific tools for the study of learning along with the Contemporary Impetus for a Science of Education - "Evidence-Based Practices" and "Response to Intervention Systems." Examples of PT Tools leading to Scientifically Sound Practices (at the level of the Individual), will be discussed including Learning Hierarchies, Data Decision Rules, Fluency-Based Instruction and Performance Aims.
