How do I update / view my profile?

As Celeration.org becomes more complex, and our ability to use Celeration.org as a functional portal rather than just an information source grows, your user profile is becoming more important.  In this short tutorial, we hope to give you a quick introduction to how to help others get to know you, and for you to get to know fellow members.

The first thing you will need to do is to log into your account.  If you are not a member, or if your membership has lapsed, you will have to renew.  Please do not create a new account if you have forgotten your login information; this will affect our data about the length of your membership and recognition for your contributions to the society in the past.  Just This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Logging on is easy; just start with your username and password in the window that looks like this:

Once you've entered your username and password, you will see a silhouette of a generic member:

From here, you will be able to access your profile, edit your profile, change your newsletter settings, and more.  To see your profile, click on the silhouette.  To go directly to editing, click on the link that says [Edit].  The Profile percentage is a ratio of the amount of information you have included in your profile to the number of fields suggested for your profile.  In this example, the only thing remaining is a photo.  For our purposes, we will first look at the example profile: where you would arrive by clicking on the silhouette:

Along the top, you can edit your profile, or declare your connections to other members.  By clicking on the tabs along the bottom, you can view your mailing lists, contact info, connections, subscription (membership type and dates), invite others to join the SCS, and view your awards and achievements within the society.  In the future, there will be additional tabs with additional options.

To edit your profile, you can either click on the EDIT button at the top of your profile:

Or you can click on the link that says link that says [Edit] from the "Profile Progress" item on the right sidebar:

From here you will access menus from which you can change many things about your profile, including password, the newsletters to which you subscribe, and so forth:
