UPDATED: How to Register

A quick tutorial for registering for the IPTC or signing up / renewing a membership.

In order to register for the IPTC2009, you must have a subscription to celeration.org -- either a paid membership or a free subscription.  Once you have a subscription, your conference registration is only a few clicks away.

  • You must first click on the "Register" link shown below the login boxes:

If you are already a member, or have been a member in the past, sign in to the login boxes as below:

From here you will have several choices for your membership.  Membership provides access to registration pricing that is $100 cheaper than registering as a professional.  But for those of you who do not want a paid membership should choose the first option -- the three-month, free membership (this does not allow access to paid membership functions):

Those of you who want a paid membership can select to be a Regular Member or a Sustaining Member.  If you are a Regular Member, you can upgrade to a sustaining membership at any time, with the funds applied to your regular membership pro-rated and applied to your upgrade.  Paid SCS members will be listed in memberlists.  Non-paying subscribers will not.

  • Make your selection, and then scroll down to the registration fields and then press "Register."
  • If you are a new member, check your email for a confirmation link, and click on it.

Once you have signed in, or registered and then signed in, you will suddenly see new boxes and options on the right and left of the website.   The new options to the right will contain links to conference registration:

At the top you will see two links to registration options; registrations and workshops.  Access to your "cart" and a way to adjust your billing or shipping address are below those two options.

First click on "IPTC 2009 Registrations (2)."  You should see a screen like this:

The pricing for your registration will differ based on when you register, and by the type of membership under which you have logged in.  If you want more information, click on, "Product Details."  Once you have selected which registration you want, click on the "Add to Cart" button below your selection.

At this point, depending on your browser, you might see a confirmation window like this:

This will give you the opportunity to go directly to your "Cart," or to continue shopping.  If you want to register for workshops, you will want to continue.

Registering for the workshop you would like is the same process as adding your registration.  Once you have added all of the conference activities you need, you will need to check out.  There are several easy ways.  One is to click on the "Cart" button in the confirmation dialog above.  Another is to click on "Show Cart" from the box at the top right of your page:

From any of the "Cart" views, you have the option to "Continue Shopping" or "Checkout" at the bottom of the page:

If you are done with your selections, choose "Checkout."

At the "Checkout" page, make sure that your billing and "Shipping" addresses are correct.  The "Billing" address is the address to which we will send an invoice, if necessary.

Checking out should be pretty self-explanatory from here on out.  If you choose "Purchase Order" for payment, please put the number of the Purchase Order in the text box.
